Nissan have announced that their new mainstream electric car, the Leaf, will be built in Sunderland from 2013, securing over 2000 jobs. With many great Nissan deals already available, you will soon be able to help do your bit for the environment and the British economy buy buying a Nissan Leaf.
With a top speed of 90 mph, a range of 100 miles, and 5 seats, the Leaf is being heralded by Nissan as ”the world’s first affordable, mass-produced, zero-emission car”.
The One North East, a regional development agency, has pledged to install 1,300 re-charging points in the north-east over the next 3 years.
Nissan’s Sunderland plant currently produces the Micra, Note, Qashqai and Qashqai+2
